Bismillah wa as-salamu wa as-salatu ‘ala Rasulillahi wa ‘ala Aalihi Al-Tayyibeen wa Sahbihi Al-Akhyar.

Peace be upon him who follows the guidance,

This blog is a Muslim, Sunnah, Salafi, Athari i.e. Ahl Al-Sunnah blog, exposing the true nature of Sufism. Our intent is certainly no the reject Zuhud (detachment), Tazkiyah Al-Nafs etc. (i.e. spirituality and purifying the soul) no doubt, these practices are all part of the noble Shari’ah (as Aqidah and Fiqh are) and practiced by the righteous Salaf Al-Saleh and the scholars and every pious muslim. YET, hiding behind those terms and introducing the ugliest forms of Khurafat (superstitions), Kufriat & Shirk into the Shari’ah of Al-Islam (what Sufism of today does by spinning, dancing, yelling and other christian like forms of “worship”) will never be accepted by the Muslims who are upon the Sunnah and a sane Fitrah. Sufism of today is not the Zuhud, Tazkiyah Al-Nafs etc. that was practiced by the pious Salaf, this is why the orthodox scholars of Islam vehemntly reject even the term of “Sufiyah” even though in itself it wasn’t always linked to Khurafat, Bid’ah and Shirk.

and to put it in the words of a noble brother:
in real Islam i.e. the salafee manhaj, we have sciences of Islam, eman, and ihsan

Islam is understood through the fiqh of the fuqaha of the madhaahib of ahlul-hadeeth

eman is understood as the aqeedatu-salaf ashbaabul-hadeeth.

ihsan, the science, is what the ulema have called either “Ilmu-Raqaa’iq” (sceince of the heart. a Major work in this topic is by Ibnul-Qudamah al-Maqdisee’s book Manhaj al-Qaasideen) or tazkiyaatu-nafs, or tassawuf.

as for tassawuf. Ibn Taymiyyah categorized it into three categoris.

the first category were non other than those who restricted themselves to the sunnah regarding purifying the heart i.e. were salafi
the second category went into certain excesses but did not go into kufr. this was during the time before Abu Hameed (ghazali) and during his time. Ghazali did take it to another level.
the third level were those who went into kufr and transformed the madhaab into the zoroastrian type of cult that it is today. It is this category that Abu Bakr al-Jazaa’iree has related that
“tassawuf begins with dhikr, and ends with kufr”

THUS we have to understand how Ibn Taymiyyah AND OTHER early scholars defined the “valid” tassawuf. once you learn that, then you will understand the invalidity of todays cults known as sufis. So yeah, no mulim on eareth is going to deny that it is fard ayn to purify your heart. That was the epitomy of original tassawuf, not the lunatic practices and kufr beliefs that is being espoused today under todays sufism. Thats why Shafi’ee stated that whoever practices tassawuf at the beginning of the day, does not come to dhuhr except as an idiot (if still practicing it). cleansing the heart is a totally different universe than calling upon the dead (which is a fiqh theory BASED on aqeedah), awliyyah knowing ghayb, unity of existence, and other kufr that goes on in todays “claimed” madhaab of “cleansing the heart”.

This is a balanced view and the scholars deal not but in fairness with the spinning heretics of this age:

He is asking about Sufism…

Sufi tareeqahs and the ruling on joining them
